Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

About This Role

Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients according to established policies and procedures. This role involves comprehensive assessment, multidisciplinary treatment plan participation, and patient/family education.

Responsibilities

• Complete admitting and shift assessments on assigned patients, including behaviors, accurately and within policy timeframes
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze patient assessment data and notify physicians of changes
• Participate in the development, review, and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans
• Document all nursing care given and adhere to nursing standards and ministry policies
• Implement and record physician's orders consistently and accurately
• Assess and monitor patients and the environment for safety within the unit
• Serve as a clinical resource and supervise care delivered by LPNs and techs
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and document education in the Electronic Health Record
• Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing care based on patient’s age-specific and clinical needs

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin (or compact state)
