About This Role

This Registered Nurse (RN) position in Behavioral Health at Woodland Springs involves providing specialized plan-of-care intervention and innovative patient care. The role focuses on delivering quality nursing care and ensuring treatment plans are executed effectively for behavioral health patients.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs
  • Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for each patient
  • Perform timely and accurate QI assessments
  • Assess the patient and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies
  • Oversee and supervise the shift, including delegating tasks like groups and meal supervision
  • Oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is delivered
  • Monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly, including physician notification
  • Follow hospital policy for medication administration
  • Consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients
  • Deliver quality nursing care to ensure treatment plan goals are executed following policies and competencies

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Decisive judgment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • CPR certification (within 30 days of employment)
  • De-escalation certification (within 30 days of employment)

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing required
  • 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred; previous experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.

Nice to Have

  • 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients
  • Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations
