This Registered Nurse (RN) position in Behavioral Health at Woodland Springs involves providing specialized plan-of-care intervention and innovative patient care. The role focuses on delivering quality nursing care and ensuring treatment plans are executed effectively for behavioral health patients.
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs
- Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for each patient
- Perform timely and accurate QI assessments
- Assess the patient and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies
- Oversee and supervise the shift, including delegating tasks like groups and meal supervision
- Oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is delivered
- Monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly, including physician notification
- Follow hospital policy for medication administration
- Consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients
- Deliver quality nursing care to ensure treatment plan goals are executed following policies and competencies
Requirements
- Associate's degree in nursing
- Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- CPR certification (within 30 days of employment)
- De-escalation certification (within 30 days of employment)
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in nursing required
- 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred; previous experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
Nice to Have
- 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility
- Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients
- Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations
