About This Role

This role involves facilitating responses to service requests, conducting initial patient assessments, determining appropriate levels of care, and ensuring accurate documentation and pre-certification with insurance companies.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate response to service requests, including initial response, assessment, referral process, and designation of appropriate level of care.
  • Conduct initial evaluation and assessment, documenting patient symptomology, functioning, and needs for medical doctor's determination.
  • Complete all pre-certification with insurance companies.
  • Maintain all pre-admission and admission paperwork with accuracy.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork, processes, and EMTALA.

Requirements

  • Current unencumbered RN license to practice by the State Board of Nursing
  • CPR and De-escalation certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire)

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited program or professional nursing

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility
  • Direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients
  • Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations

Certifications

CPR certification (Required) De-escalation Certification (Required)
