About This Role

This role involves providing evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients, administering prescribed services, and developing individualized care plans based on diagnosis, all while adhering to physician's orders and department guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis
  • Provide respiratory care services in accordance with specific physician's orders, department policies, and guidelines
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment, recording and communicating patient condition
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities and evaluate respiratory practice and treatment based on patient outcome
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and available community support
  • Assist with care, calibration, and maintenance of all equipment and participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels
  • Respond to Medical Emergencies and Rapid Responses

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • State-specific Respiratory Care Practitioner license (Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin)

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent years of experience and education
  • No experience required
