About This Role

Deliver comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while administering medications and guiding ancillary personnel. This role ensures high-quality customer service within hospital policy standards.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining relevant, accurate, and current patient records
  • Provide documentation of assessment throughout the Hospital admission including physical, psychological, social dimensions and discharge plans
  • Summarize assessment data and initiate plan of care with communication of pertinent data to allied patient care providers
  • Assume and demonstrate proficiency in the role of charge nurse
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems)
  • Assume role of resource person regarding patient care, orientation and teaching staff
  • Participate in unit staff meetings, mandatory programs and obtain Patient Care Assessment Committee (PCAC) credit
  • Participate in identification of the aspects of care for the patient, indicators used to monitor quality, and evaluation of that care and adhere to safety and blood/body fluid policies
  • Assess personal learning development needs, maintain documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities and regularly update knowledge
  • Represent the hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality and presenting a positive image

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Pass CCHC Pharmacology Exam prior to start date
  • Pass CCHC Basic Arrhythmia Exam prior to start date

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Med/Surg experience in an acute care facility within the last (2) two years preferred for some roles

Nice to Have

  • Med/Surg experience in an acute care facility within the last two years
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience in the management of cardiac patients
  • ACLS certification
  • Recent telemetry experience
  • Med/Surg. certification

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) Pharmacology Exam (CCHC) (Required) Basic Arrhythmia Exam (CCHC) (Required)
