Urgent Care RN/LPN

About This Role

Provide professional nursing care and support to urgent care center patients of all ages, assisting providers with treatments and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in initiating patient care in the Urgent Care setting under direct supervision of the provider
• Correctly identify patients by name and date of birth
• Perform nurse duties including intake, assessment, point of care testing, and all provider ordered treatments
• Conduct discharges and provide patient education
• Assess and treat patients in a fast-paced, high-volume urgent care setting
• Obtain and document all current medical history, medications, and allergies within the EMR
• Assist providers in urgent care procedures such as EKG’s, dressing changes, suture removal, ear lavages, splinting, injections, IV insertion, and IV infusions
• Maintain and stock all rooms, IV carts, and other supplies; check all equipment for proper working order
• Return patient phone calls in a timely manner to answer general medical questions
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Acute care experience
• Previous IV insertion/therapy skills
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts OR Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN/LPN)
• Acute care experience and previous IV insertion/therapy skills required for both RN and LPN roles.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
• Previous Urgent Care/Emergency Department experience
