Certified Medical Assistant, PCP

About This Role

The Certified Medical Assistant provides comprehensive support to the MACC practice, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. This role involves assisting providers with clinical care, managing patient flow, and maintaining efficient office operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing clinical care to office patients as delegated by the supervising provider
• Manage provider’s daily schedule and patient flow to expedite care and maximize clinical time
• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, verifying two-patient identifiers
• Obtain relevant patient information and vital signs
• Input pertinent clinical information into the electronic health record timely and accurately
• Assist clinicians with clinical procedures and additional tests specific to the department
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring inventory of supplies and equipment
• Administer routine injections under provider supervision, documenting accurately
• Provide clerical/office support as necessary, including scheduling and record management
• Ability to float to other MACC practices when required

Requirements

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA or NHA)
• Completion of a post-secondary medical assisting program
• Basic Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, time management skills
• Proficient with computer office applications (Electronic Medical/Health Records, MS Office)

Qualifications

• Completion of a post-secondary medical assisting program
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical setting preferred
