About This Role

Provide cardiopulmonary care services to patients in accordance with physician orders and department policies. This role involves administering respiratory care, life support, and performing diagnostic tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and assess responses to ordered therapy per plan of care including routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures
  • Utilize various types of oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment such as masks, tents and incubators
  • Administer prescribed doses of medicinal gases and aerosol drugs
  • Measure ventilatory volumes, pressures and blood gas analysis
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and general acceptance of treatment
  • Perform a variety of duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • TN (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner license
  • (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist credential
