About This Role

Perform direct patient care for psychiatric patients within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilize therapeutic communication and maintain a safe therapeutic environment, leading collaboration for well-coordinated patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act
  • Utilize therapeutic communication in daily practice
  • Maintain a safe therapeutic environment
  • Identify nursing problems relating to individual patient needs
  • Plan individualized patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach
  • Participate in performance improvement activities
  • Provide care and coordinate participation that fosters hospital mission and vision goals
  • Oversee and direct the care of psychiatric patients
  • Lead collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge of psychiatric nursing and maintain high quality comprehensive patient care

Requirements

  • RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required within 30 days of hire
