Perform direct patient care for psychiatric patients within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilize therapeutic communication and maintain a safe therapeutic environment, leading collaboration for well-coordinated patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act
- Utilize therapeutic communication in daily practice
- Maintain a safe therapeutic environment
- Identify nursing problems relating to individual patient needs
- Plan individualized patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach
- Participate in performance improvement activities
- Provide care and coordinate participation that fosters hospital mission and vision goals
- Oversee and direct the care of psychiatric patients
- Lead collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Demonstrate clinical knowledge of psychiatric nursing and maintain high quality comprehensive patient care
Requirements
- RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required within 30 days of hire
Nice to Have
- Psychiatric or Behavioral Health Services experience
