Registered Nurse

About This Role

As a home care Registered Nurse (RN), you will ensure hospice patients are comfortable and maintain trust by guiding them and their families through the end-of-life journey. You will act as both a caregiver and hospice educator, making crucial care decisions at the bedside.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hospice patients are comfortable
• Forge compassionate, meaningful connections with patients and their families
• Guide patients and families through the end-of-life journey
• Act as a caregiver and hospice educator
• Make care decisions at the bedside
• Help patients and their loved ones understand and embrace the palliative nature of hospice
• Make 4-6 visits each day to patients wherever they call home
• Meet weekly with an interdisciplinary team to collaborate on patient care

Requirements

• Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located
• A minimum of two years of nursing experience in hospice, home health, or community health in the last five years
• Reliable transportation
