Provide comprehensive acute care to patients with benign and malignant disorders of the hematopoietic system within a university hospital oncology unit. Deliver patient care while focusing on the specialty of Oncology and receiving chemotherapy training.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with benign and malignant disorders of the hematopoietic system such as Leukemia, Blood Disorders, Multiple Myeloma, and Myeloproliferative Disorders
- Receive hospital-based chemotherapy training and chemotherapy administration competency checkoffs
- Attend a Chemotherapy Course developed in partnership with other National Cancer Institutions
- Attend an Oncology Overview Course
Requirements
- Current Michigan RN license
- Successfully pass NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure within 45 days (for Graduate Nurses)
Nice to Have
- BSN
- OCN
- Oncology experience
- Desire to work with oncology population
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, delegation skills, and problem-solving skills
