About This Role

This role is responsible for preparing waste materials for disposal, serving the Michigan Medicine healthcare complex by ensuring safe and compliant waste handling practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare waste materials for incineration or other disposal
  • Use protective equipment and processes for waste handling

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.
  • No lifting restrictions
  • Ability to work around sick and disabled patients (children and adults) within a hospital setting
  • Team player, able to prioritize work and handle stress daily
  • Ability to perform all tasks listed on the Waste Handler Classification Description

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
