This role is responsible for preparing waste materials for disposal, serving the Michigan Medicine healthcare complex by ensuring safe and compliant waste handling practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare waste materials for incineration or other disposal
- Use protective equipment and processes for waste handling
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.
- No lifting restrictions
- Ability to work around sick and disabled patients (children and adults) within a hospital setting
- Team player, able to prioritize work and handle stress daily
- Ability to perform all tasks listed on the Waste Handler Classification Description
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
