Provide float coverage as a Medical Assistant to Primary Care and specialty sites within the Michigan Medicine network, working directly with care teams to deliver excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with providers and their care team to deliver excellent and timely patient care
- Ensure efficient patient flow in a fast-paced primary care outpatient setting
- Complete patient intake including taking vitals, obtaining medical and surgical history, and documenting chief complaint
- Reconcile outside records and document clinical information in patient chart in electronic medical record
- Assist providers with point of care alerts for overdue services
- Assist with minor clinical and diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Provide clinical assistance by performing immunization/medication administration, EKGs, bench testing and procedures as necessary
- Assist with obtaining medication prior authorizations
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrate team effort
- Able to work independently
- Good organization skills
- Excellent attendance record
- Flexible in assignment and work schedule
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary
Nice to Have
- Certified as medical assistant
- Experience working with Epic
- Understanding of university policies and procedures
