About This Role

The Medical Assistant II supports clinical and front desk operations in a fast-paced allergy, asthma, and immunotherapy practice. This role involves performing allergy-specific clinical workflows, handling administrative tasks, and mentoring junior staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record patient vital signs including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
  • Assist with allergy testing, spirometry, Niox testing, and immunotherapy under supervision
  • Accurately document patient data in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, including restocking supplies and cleaning between patients
  • Support patient flow by communicating visit expectations and ensuring timely transitions
  • Uphold HIPAA regulations and infection control standards at all times
  • Mentor and assist in training new or junior clinical staff
  • Serve as a liaison between front and back-office teams to support and improve overall clinic workflows
  • Address routine patient inquiries and issues professionally and promptly
  • Handle front desk responsibilities as needed, including patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient communication

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of Medical Assistant experience
  • Proficiency in allergy-specific clinical workflows (e.g., skin testing, spirometry, immunotherapy)
  • Working knowledge of front desk operations, including scheduling and insurance processes
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in EMR documentation
  • Ability to mentor newer staff members while modeling professionalism and teamwork
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • 2-5 years of Medical Assistant experience
