About This Role

This Medical Assistant (MA) role provides essential clinical and clerical support in cardiology patient care within the Medical Assistant's scope of education. The position involves direct and indirect patient care, administrative duties, and opportunities for continued training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under direction of provider, including vitals, allergy/medical reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives and virtual health
  • Provide indirect patient care related to the Medical Assistant scope of education including scheduling, check in/out, referrals, chart prep and prior authorizations
  • Conduct point of care testing including quality control and documentation
  • Perform administrative duties and cover front desk based on business needs
  • Float to other offices based on business needs

Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR one year of direct patient care experience
  • Certified BLS Provider (AHA) within 3 months of hire

Qualifications

  • Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience
  • At least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered in lieu of education. Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.

  • EPIC EMR experience
