This academic faculty position in the Section of General Surgery involves direct clinical and surgical responsibilities, patient care, teaching, administrative, and research duties. The selected candidate will initiate research projects, acquire external funding, direct projects, and publish findings.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct, but guided clinical and surgical responsibilities in the Section of General Surgery
- Provide patient care
- Teach clinical and didactic subjects
- Undertake administrative responsibilities
- Initiate research projects and acquire external funding
- Direct research projects and publish findings
Requirements
- Medical doctorate degree
- Completion of General Surgery residency training program
- American Board of Surgery certification or eligibility
- Ability to obtain appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan and a Federal DEA registration
- Demonstrated ability as an academic surgeon
- Evidence of competence in clinical and didactic teaching
- Evidence of scholarly ability (publications in peer-reviewed journals)
