Registered Nurse (Staff - Outpatient)

About This Role

The Outpatient Registered Nurse collaborates with primary care teams and uses evidence-based practice to develop patient-driven care plans for life at the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with services internal and external to the VA to facilitate care transition to effectively meet the patients' needs
• Provide patient and family health education with a focus on self-management, prevention, and wellness
• Assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction
• Administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines
• Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team
• Execute position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex client care
• Demonstrate performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for a group of patients
• Responsible for documented outcomes at the program or service level

Requirements

• English Language Proficiency
• Graduate of a professional nursing school accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration/license

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by ACEN or CCNE, or a Master's level bridge program in nursing, or a foreign school of professional nursing with equivalency validation

• 1-2 years Emergency Department Experience
• 1-2 years Cardiology Experience
• 1-2 years Pulmonary Experience
• 1-2 years Neurology Experience
• 1-2 years Orthopedic Experience
