About This Role

This position involves the installation, modification, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintenance of medium and low voltage electrical equipment, circuits, and associated devices within a Veterans Health Administration facility. The role supports the Fayetteville NC VA Coastal Health Care System's Engineering Service.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, troubleshoot, service, and maintain medium and low voltage electrical equipment, circuits, and associated devices.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical wiring systems and associated fixtures, controls, and end equipment in various building types.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical principles, materials, and safety standards.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, operate and test emergency power distribution systems (generators, transfer switches, switchgear, batteries, fuel systems).
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and test 4160-volt switches, transformers, and air vacuumed breakers.
  • Work with little or no supervision for routine assignments.
  • Adhere to safety precautions and handle physical demands of the job, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Demonstrate awareness and professionalism when working around patients and clinical staff.

  • Evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality to perform the work duties; specific length of training and experience not required.
