Registered Nurse - Shore Care - Per Diem

About This Role

This Registered Nurse (Shore Care) position at Hackensack Meridian Health involves delivering evidence-based nursing care, encompassing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized patient treatment. Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation
• Perform age and disease specific assessment independently and systematically
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status
• Identify variables in patient/family education needs based on age, disease, and culturally specific learning differences
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions to attain expected outcomes
• Formulate age and disease specific patient/family centered goals/outcomes based on assessment data
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care
• Provide ongoing communication with patient/family, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members
• Provide or coordinate patient/family education as needed and ensure understanding
• Perform continuous Point-of-Care electronic documentation of patient assessments, plan-of-care, interventions, and evaluation
• Administer medication utilizing bar-scanning and documentation technologies
• Perform multi-disciplinary discharging of patients to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes and utilize critical thinking skills
• Initiate interventions related to patients' change in condition and unexpected response to care
• Identify ethical issues in the practice setting and bring them to the attention of other team members

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of entering position

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing
• Entry level with a note that as of May 5, 2025, a minimum of two years recent experience in specialty and one year in a floating professional environment will be required.
