About This Role

This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, excellent care that adheres to regulatory standards, payor expectations, and organizational objectives for quality and patient safety. The specialist will participate in quality reviews, reporting, and performance improvement initiatives, with a primary focus on Diabetes education and care for high-risk patients.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and act as a resource to the organization and medical staff in the abstraction, analysis, and submission of data for evaluation to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, CMS conditions of participation, payor requirements, and medical staff bylaws.
  • Collect quality indicator data and provide comparative analysis with other healthcare facilities.
  • Participate as a member of quality improvement teams to provide data, analysis, and document learnings to ensure the spread of best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the medical staff and organizational leadership to proactively address quality and/or utilization issues.
  • Collaborate with hospital departments to ensure site survey readiness and compliance with regulatory requirements and conditions of participation.
  • Serve as an internal consultant and educator for performance improvement activities and patient safety processes.
  • Participate in an environment promoting individual and team accountability and commitment to high-quality and safe patient care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the organization-wide quality and performance improvement plan.

Requirements

  • Current OH RN License
  • 5 years clinical experience demonstrating increasing responsibility and success in clinical quality improvement
  • Thorough knowledge of TJC standards, CMS conditions of participation, and other regulatory standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organizational team-building, relationship building and management skills
  • Understanding and ability to perform data analysis
  • Basic statistical skills including intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Proven experience with performance improvement methodologies

Qualifications

  • 5 years clinical experience demonstrating increasing responsibility and success in clinical quality improvement.
