About This Role

Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Lourdes Hospital by assessing patient status, determining priorities, and implementing clinical nursing interventions for acute and critical patients.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
  • Determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
  • Implement clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care
  • Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessment, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
  • Synthesize and prioritize information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient-focused action using clinical judgement and clinical inquiry
  • Anticipate and respond with confidence and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions
  • Participate in the on-call system for emergency and urgent procedures on weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of RN experience in telemetry, critical care, cardiac cath lab, ER, or OR
  • Ability to respond to STEMI call backs in less than 30 minutes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
  • One year of RN experience in telemetry, critical care, cardiac cath lab, ER, or OR

  • BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support at hire
