This role involves providing patient care on the Neuro Progressive Unit utilizing the Nursing Process, leading and directing a nursing team, and ensuring quality patient outcomes while adhering to professional nursing standards and Ochsner's philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver patient care
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and other groups
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively
- Serve as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team
- Use data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes
- Enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale
- Adapt behavior to specific patient populations
Requirements
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and software specific to the role
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational skills
- Good time management skills and self-direction
- Demonstrated good judgment
