Registered Nurse (RN)

About This Role

Provide nursing care for students at the Gulfport Job Corps Center, including emergency triage, illness assessment, and medication administration. Ensure compliance with state RN licensure and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency or urgent situations and administer emergency or first aid care.
• Assess and treat illnesses following established protocols or physician referral.
• Assist physicians or nurse practitioners with examinations and scheduling.
• Track labs, testing, and immunizations for compliance and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student medical records.
• Administer prescription medications as ordered by the doctor.
• Teach students about illness, wellness, and self-care.
• Maintain prescription inventory and supply common non-prescription medications to work areas.
• Provide in-service instruction to staff on medical subjects.
• Serve as reproductive health coordinator, conducting functional evaluations and tracking prenatal care.
• Gather staff input monthly to plan for medical separation with reinstatement.
• Request student leaves, ensuring scheduled care is not interrupted and complies with PRH.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State in which you are working
• Must have current, valid CPR/First Aid
• Current, valid Driver’s License, with an acceptable driving record
• Successfully pass background check and drug test
