Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiology

About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides skilled nursing care to patients in clinical settings under provider direction, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient health responses. This role involves collaboration with providers and ensuring continuity of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide office-based nursing care in collaboration with a provider
• Assess physical and psychosocial needs and environmental factors affecting patients and families
• Formulate nursing plan of care and ensure continuity of patient care through appropriate nursing evaluation and intervention
• Communicate with provider regarding patient needs, nursing assessments, and recommendations
• Take direction and initiate actions (cross/additional training) that will allow seamless patient care
• Collect and document current health status and medical history and assist in scheduling patient office visits
• Review patient records, including preoperative records, to ensure completeness and address outstanding issues with provider
• Demonstrate independent nursing actions based on assessment and problem identification
• Call in prescription medications to pharmacies under provider direction and document patient’s response
• Document accurate and ongoing assessment of patient’s needs, problems, capabilities, limitations, progress toward goals, and response to care
• Triage telephone calls and display ability to initiate appropriate nursing intervention in a prompt, precise, and professional manner
• Assist patients and family members or other clients with concern and empathy, respecting confidentiality and privacy

Requirements

• Current Connecticut RN License
