Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiac Operating Room

About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) for Cardiac Operating Room delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, problem identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. This role coordinates and directs patient teaching activities and care provided by other health team members.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Analyze assessment data and create a comprehensive plan of care
• Implement and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Administer medications safely and consistently with State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies
• Serve as the point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
• Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery

Requirements

• Knowledge of contemporary nursing practice
• Nursing judgment and skill based on principles of biological, physical, behavioral, and social sciences
• Application of the nursing process in patient care delivery

Qualifications

• Associate of Nursing, nursing or Diploma in Nursing
