This role provides clinical direction and patient-centered care for patients in an acute inpatient setting, specifically in Coronary Intervention & Recovery, ensuring competency in the nursing process and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Collect data and complete nursing assessment utilizing appropriate area and/or age specific standards/policies and tools
- Assess and recognize subtle or actual changes in patients' status and patient response to intervention
- Identify nursing priorities for patient plan of care based on nursing assessment and other data as appropriate
- Develop an individual plan of care based on the age and assessed needs of the patient, collaborating with the patient, family, provider, and interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Update the plan of care based on changes in the patient's condition and communicate changes to other team members
- Identify realistic and measurable goals and outcomes to be attained prior to discharge
- Provide direct care to assigned patients consistent with the established nursing plan
- Delegate nursing tasks as appropriate to members of the healthcare team
- Monitor quality of care delivered on a continual basis, ensuring appropriate surveillance of assigned patients
- Evaluate plan of care for effectiveness, document progress, and revise as needed based on patient response to interventions
- Identify/assess patient/family learning needs and teach accordingly
- Evaluate own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standard guidelines and state statutes
- Ensure written documentation and oral communication focuses on pertinent information to support meeting patient/family care needs
- Serve as the patient's advocate and coordinator of care, working collaboratively with providers and other members of the healthcare team
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing
- One (1) year experience as a registered nurse or equivalent
- Current RN license
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- One (1) year experience as a registered nurse, or successful completion of a Nurse Residency Program, or 1 year LPN experience in the same service line.
