Nurse Practitioner

About This Role

Provide primary health care to a specific patient population, focusing on diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries, within established nursing standards and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Engage in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, defects or injuries
• Recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental or functional ailments or defects
• Perform all charting, summaries, correspondence and assorted paperwork for documenting care and billing
• Participate in physician educational programs relative to capitated medicine
• Participate in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts
• Participate in the establishment of quality assurance and utilization management programs
• Assist in the development of operational and capital budgets
• Participate in operational assessments for revenue enhancement, expense reductions, consolidation efficiencies and billing opportunities
• Maintain courteous and cooperative working relationships with all levels of management and employees, physicians, patients, guarantors and the general public
• Participate in activities that would further the public's image of the Employer

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent
• South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner - NLNP (license)
• Prescriptive Authority South Carolina Nursing License
• South Carolina Controlled Substance license
• Federal DEA license

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent
