Provide nursing services in Radiology, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards. Coordinate invasive procedures with radiologists and manage patient education and support services.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing services based on standards of care and professional nursing practice.
- Schedule and coordinate invasive procedures with radiologists daily.
- Interact directly with patients and families to gather information regarding procedures.
- Collaborate with referring physicians to provide resources and support.
- Implement processes to meet patients' needs and prevent pre-arrival barriers.
- Coordinate patient clinical services, including treatment, evaluation, support, and education.
- Coordinate clinical documentation from referring and treating physicians.
- Monitor ongoing patient needs to ensure efficient access to services.
- Apprise radiologists and supervisory personnel of patient status and provide solutions to problems.
- Facilitate guidance of individuals through the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
- Ensures patients understand their procedures, treatment, and immediate follow-up care.
- Demonstrates proper patient identification prior to procedures, medication or any treatment.
- Demonstrates proper hand hygiene.
- Ensures medication reconciliation on admission and discharge.
- Assess and reassess patient prior to and post-procedure according to protocol.
- Perform pre-procedural and post-procedural documentation.
- Provide discharge education/instructions.
- Demonstrate radiation safety knowledge for themselves, patients, staff, and physicians.
- Assists with ensuring all vendors and staff are shielded.
Requirements
- ADN from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited institution
- Previous experience in an acute care setting
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EMR)
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs
- Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 Days
Qualifications
- ADN received from an education institution accredited by NLNAC or CCNE is Required; BSN or MSN Preferred
- Previous experience in an acute care setting Required
Nice to Have
- BSN or MSN from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited institution
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association
