Monitor Technician

About This Role

This role involves continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms on a specific unit, identifying and interpreting changes, and acting appropriately. The Monitor Technician also performs clerical duties, answers phones, relays messages, and helps visitors and patients.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms on a specific unit
• Identify and interpret changes in cardiac rhythms and act appropriately
• Perform clerical duties on a nursing unit
• Answer telephones in a prompt and appropriate manner
• Relay messages to appropriate staff
• Act as a receptionist, receiving and directing visitors and ambulatory patients
• Utilize Service Response Center in a timely manner
• Obtain, stock, and organize office supplies
• Maintain label book and logbook with daily updates
• Verify with nurse on admission and every shift patient on telemetry

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with the successful completion of Medical Terminology and Monitor Tech course with a passing score on the examination Preferred

• Successful completion of Medical Terminology and Monitor Tech course with a passing score on examination
• MT/Clerical experience
