Join a 32-bed general care surgical unit specializing in transplant, gastrointestinal, and urology surgery patients. Provide patient care on night shifts for a diverse population ranging from young adult to elderly.
Responsibilities
- Care for transplant, gastrointestinal, and urology surgery patients
- Perform nursing duties for common surgical procedures (kidney, pancreas/kidney, liver transplants, small bowel resections, whipple procedure, cystectomy, nephrectomy)
- Work with a diverse patient population from young adult to elderly
- Float to designated unit(s) in times of low census
Requirements
- Current Michigan RN license
- At least 1 year current RN experience
Qualifications
- At least 1 year current RN experience
Nice to Have
- BSN preferred
- Experience caring for surgical patient populations within the last two (2) years
- Abdominal, transplant, and/or urology experience
- Demonstrated sound nursing skills
- Team focused work behaviors
- Ability to take initiative for professional growth and development
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communications and problem solving skills within all levels of the health care team
- Demonstrated accountability and dependability as evidenced by completion of continuous mandatory education requirements within identified time frames
- Proficient in GroupWise and/or other computer programs
