This Registered Nurse position is for the 8A Acute Care Oncology Unit at University Hospital, providing comprehensive care for patients with benign and malignant disorders of the hematopoietic system.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with benign and malignant disorders of the hematopoietic system including Leukemia, Blood Disorders, Multiple Myeloma, and Myeloproliferative Disorders.
- Focus on the specialty of Oncology while gaining a wide variety of medical/surgical experiences.
- Attend hospital-based chemotherapy training and chemotherapy administration competency checkoffs.
- Attend a Chemotherapy Course developed in partnership with other National Cancer Institutions.
- Attend an Oncology Overview Course.
Requirements
- Current Michigan RN license (for candidates who have passed NCLEX)
- Graduate Nurses (GN) considered, must pass NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure within 45 days of hire
Nice to Have
- BSN Preferred
- OCN Preferred
- Oncology experience preferred
- Desire to work with oncology population
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, delegation skills, and problem-solving skills
