About This Role

This Registered Nurse position is for the 8A Acute Care Oncology Unit at University Hospital, providing comprehensive care for patients with benign and malignant disorders of the hematopoietic system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for patients with benign and malignant disorders of the hematopoietic system including Leukemia, Blood Disorders, Multiple Myeloma, and Myeloproliferative Disorders.
  • Focus on the specialty of Oncology while gaining a wide variety of medical/surgical experiences.
  • Attend hospital-based chemotherapy training and chemotherapy administration competency checkoffs.
  • Attend a Chemotherapy Course developed in partnership with other National Cancer Institutions.
  • Attend an Oncology Overview Course.

Requirements

  • Current Michigan RN license (for candidates who have passed NCLEX)
  • Graduate Nurses (GN) considered, must pass NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure within 45 days of hire

  • BSN Preferred
  • OCN Preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Desire to work with oncology population
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, delegation skills, and problem-solving skills
