Registered Nurse

About This Role

Provide quality nursing care to patients by following physician's orders and facility protocols. This role involves administering medications, supervising nursing assistants, and assisting physicians during rounds, all within a caring environment focused on geriatric nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assure quality nursing care for patient by following physician’s orders, state and federal regulations and this Facility’s policies and procedures
• Administer all medications (oral, s.q., I.M., or I.V.) as ordered by M.D. and according to Facility policies
• Lead, guide, and supervise nursing assistants and orderlies
• Assist physicians with rounds as needed
• Drape, remain with and care for patients during MD rounds, physical examinations, and treatments as necessary
• Perform treatments scheduled during shift and document appropriately
• Maintain infection control measures as necessary and adhere to all regulations pertaining to cleanliness, infection control, and Standard/Universal Precautions
• Assist with research related to the quality of nursing care, as assigned
• Assist with records, orders, and assessment of new admissions unit/hall
• Assist with scheduling patients annual physical with attending physician and ensure physicals and documentation of physical are done on a timely basis

Requirements

• Current, valid license from North Carolina Board of Nursing
• CPR certified yearly
• Genuine interest in geriatric nursing
• Ability to supervise nursing assistants
• Dependable, flexible, and able to work and cooperate well with all nursing personnel and other departments
• Ability to make decisions regarding nursing problems

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
