This role involves planning and delivering direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse will develop nursing care plans, communicate patient clinical changes to medical staff, and participate in discharge planning.
Responsibilities
- Provides planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process
- Develops nursing care plans in coordination with patient, family, and interdisciplinary staff
- Communicates changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers
- Maintains the standard of nursing care and implements hospital policies and procedures
- Directs, supervises, provides and evaluates nursing care provided to patients
- Documents patient admission assessment, reassessments, and care plans in the medical record
- Administers medication utilizing the five rights of medication administration
- Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness
- Assists physicians with examinations, treatments and special procedures
- Initiates or assists with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients’ condition
Requirements
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse
- BCLS certification
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program
- Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred
Nice to Have
- ACLS certifications
- Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting
