This role involves providing comprehensive direct and indirect patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse will coordinate care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff, and communicate changes in patient conditions to appropriate personnel.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the standard of nursing care and implement hospital policies and procedures
- Direct, supervise, and evaluate nursing care provided to patients
- Assign nursing care team members based on patient needs and team capabilities
- Document patient admission, reassessments, and care plans completely in medical records
- Perform assessments on all patients on admission and as per policy
- Develop and update nursing care plans in coordination with the patient, family, and team
- Assess and reassess pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques
- Educate patients and families regarding pain management
- Revise and evaluate the plan of care daily based on patient response to treatment
- Perform patient care responsibilities considering age-specific standards of care
- Perform treatments and provide services within the level of license
- Receive and accurately transcribe physician's orders, documenting completion
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and special procedures
- Administer medication utilizing the five rights of medication administration
- Formulate and evaluate teaching plans for patients and families based on identified learning needs
- Interact professionally with patients/families, involving them in care plan formation
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity
- Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families
Requirements
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse
- BCLS certification
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of medications and their correct administration
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations
- Ability to maintain good working relationships
- Good and regular attendance
- Fluent in English
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program
- Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred
Nice to Have
- ACLS preferred
- Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting
Certifications
