Registered Nurse

About This Role

The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care following the nursing process. This role involves developing and coordinating patient care plans, communicating patient conditions to medical staff, and participating in discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the standard of nursing care and implement hospital policies and procedures.
• Direct, supervise, provide, and evaluate nursing care to patients.
• Delegate tasks based on patient needs, potential for harm, complexity, and staff scope of practice.
• Document patient admission assessments, reassessments, and care plans in medical records.
• Perform assessments on all patients upon admission and make referrals to other disciplines.
• Develop and update nursing care plans in coordination with the patient, family, and team.
• Assess and reassess patient pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques and educating patients and families.
• Administer medications following the five rights of medication administration to prevent errors.
• Formulate and evaluate teaching plans based on identified learning needs, including the family.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and special procedures within the scope of practice.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as Registered Nurse
• BCLS certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
• Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Nice to Have

• ACLS certification
• Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting
