This Registered Nurse position provides direct and indirect patient care following the nursing process, developing care plans, and communicating changes in patient conditions to ensure comprehensive and effective treatment. The role focuses on delivering high-quality care while maintaining hospital standards and policies.
Responsibilities
- Provide and evaluate nursing care to patients, maintaining hospital standards and policies
- Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs, potential for harm, complexity of tasks, and scope of practice
- Document patient admission assessment, reassessments, care plans, and other pertinent information accurately
- Perform assessments on all patients on admission and reassessments per policy, making referrals to other disciplines as needed
- Develop and update nursing care plans in coordination with patient, family, and interdisciplinary team members
- Assess and reassess patient pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques and educating patients/families
- Administer medications safely using the five rights of medication administration
- Formulate and evaluate patient teaching plans, including family where appropriate
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and special procedures within scope of practice
- Initiate or assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients' conditions
Requirements
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse
- BCLS certification
- Knowledge of medications and their correct administration
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations
- Fluent in English
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program
- Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred
Nice to Have
- Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting
- ACLS certification
