Provide direct and supportive care to patients in a psychiatric practice, focusing on administering various treatments for mental health and substance abuse disorders. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, treatment administration, and maintaining clinic supplies.
Responsibilities
- Create a supportive environment for patients with compassion and kindness
- Establish intravenous lines and administer ketamine and intramuscular injections
- Assist patients in administering Spravato and carry out authorized medical orders
- Administer adjunct medication for adverse reactions and obtain necessary laboratory specimens, including pharmacogenetic tests and urine drug screens
- Conduct care within medical emergencies and provide emotional support during infusions
- Take vital signs and perform comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, mental, and psychosocial needs
- Monitor and document vital signs, scales, and changes in mood or symptoms using electronic health records (EHR)
- Seek and treat unforeseen side effects, determining suitable actions for patient needs
- Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver appropriate patient care
- Manage, order, organize, secure, and log all controlled substances and necessary clinic supplies
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Driver's license
- Technological proficiency, including EHR and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task and maintain highest level of patient care
- Professionalism
- Critical thinking skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in behavioral health with knowledge of psychiatric medications
