About This Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide vital medical care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting meaningful relationships within a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and supervision to Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
  • Serve as medical liaison for interdisciplinary teams (IDT), ensuring proper medical follow-up
  • Participate in IDT conferences as required
  • Assess injuries and accidents to ensure individuals receive appropriate medical care
  • Develop and modify written nursing plans for each individual
  • Maintain medical records for each individual
  • Accompany individuals to medical appointments as assigned
  • Ensure proper medical follow-up through an on-call system
  • Ensure all medications are administered and stored as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulatory standards
  • Complete appropriate incident reporting paperwork
  • Liaison with family members regarding medical issues
  • Prepare monthly Medication Administration Records
  • Supervise AMAP pourings and AMAPs

Requirements

  • N.Y. State Registered Nurse License

Nice to Have

  • N.Y. State Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of OPWDD Regulations
  • Experience with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD) population
