Registered Nurse

About This Role

This Registered Nurse role involves providing professional nursing care and assistance to patients across all age groups within the employed area. The nurse will also direct Licensed Vocational Nurses and non-licensed personnel in patient care, ensuring medical support under the guidance of the Medical Staff.

Responsibilities

• Know and conform to the Nurse Practice Act for the State of Texas
• Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care through comprehensive assessments, nursing diagnoses, care plan development, implementation, and evaluation of patient responses
• Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel with consideration for patient safety, educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and ability, in compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act
• Implement measures to promote a safe environment for patients and others
• Administer medications and treatments correctly, understanding their rationale and effects
• Maintain required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards
• Clarify any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate, non-efficacious, or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed practitioner and notifying the ordering practitioner if a decision is made not to administer
• Institute appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize a patient's condition and/or prevent complications

Requirements

• Current RN license in the State of Texas
• BLS certification

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• No experience required
