Registered Nurse

About This Role

Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained. This role involves meeting residents' nursing and rehabilitation needs, maintaining care plans, and administering medication.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents
• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants
• Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident
• Maintain current resident care plans for residents under care
• Follow physician’s orders and assist with complete nursing care, treatments, and dressings
• Transcribe physician’s orders promptly and accurately
• Review patient records daily to assure accuracy and completeness
• Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes
• Visit each resident daily to evaluate needs
• Maintain accurate awareness of residents on alert list
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings, contacting the physician when necessary
• Administer medication according to procedure
• Maintain accurate and safe control of all drugs
• Initiate emergency procedures as necessary

Requirements

• Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing or college
• CPR certification
• Current and active RN license in the state, or in process of obtaining one
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care
