About This Role

This Registered Nurse role involves providing general nursing care to patients in a physical rehabilitation hospital, including assessment, problem identification, and collaborative discharge planning. The position is for night shifts with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care to patients in the hospital
• Complete a psychosocial, physical, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning assessment of the patient through interview, observation and inspection, auscultation, palpitation and documents on all admissions per service line policy
• Identify patient's present and potential problems from information gathered in the initial and continued assessments
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team, client and family in making decisions regarding patient’s need for nursing care
• Initiate problem list within time frame established by service standard using approved taxonomy
• Prioritize problems based on client’s health status
• Establish specific and measurable individualized client care goals
• Initiate discharge needs/plan reflective of interdisciplinary approach on admission

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in good standing
• One – two years rehab or med-surg experience or training
• BLS Certification
• Ability to read and communicate effectively and positively in English
• Possess excellent interpersonal and positive human relation skills
