About This Role

Direct the operations of a Walgreens Local Specialty Pharmacy, focusing on improving sales, profitability, and customer service. This role involves developing staff, managing patient care, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the operation of a Walgreens Local Specialty Pharmacy, including front-end and pharmacy departments
  • Improve unit sales, profits, and image through overall development and protection of store assets
  • Select, train, and develop personnel
  • Provide proper service to customers, responding to inquiries and complaints
  • Collaborate with providers to determine appropriateness of therapy and educate patients on medication
  • Enroll and follow patients through clinical management programs, overseeing assistance programs documentation
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, Company policies, and internal regulatory bodies
  • Prepare, submit, and file various reports and records required by the Company and government agencies
  • Develop and implement business plans to grow the business at the site and within Walgreens
  • Manage staffing, payroll budget, and ensure proper licensure and training of pharmacy department personnel

Requirements

  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree
  • Current pharmacist license in the state where the site is located or willing to obtain
  • 1+ year pharmacy experience (prescription filling, verification, records, legal compliance, operations, software, insurance)
  • Experience with applicable state and federal controlled substance laws
  • Specialized training or practical experience in medication and disease state (HIV, Organ Transplant, Oncology, etc.) or willing to complete within 6 months
  • 2+ years of experience in indirect management of team members or completion of a residency

Qualifications

  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree from an accredited educational institution
  • At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance. At least 2 years of experience in indirect management of team members, or completion of a residency.

Nice to Have

  • Masters or PharmD
  • Experience with client resolution and exposure to Specialty Pharmacy
  • Experience supervising or staffing of local specialty pharmacies
