Receiving Assistant

About This Role

The Receiving Assistant supports the Receiving Manager in the efficient operation of the receiving department by accurately processing incoming and outgoing products, managing inventory, and maintaining organization. This role also provides world-class customer service and supports overall store activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class customer service
• Assist in accurately receiving all incoming products, including date, accuracy, and damage checking
• Scan all incoming and outgoing product
• Stage products for efficient delivery to the sales floor
• Process Purchase Orders (POs), Return Purchase Orders (RPOs), mispicks, invoices, and paperwork timely and accurately
• Research and process all discrepancies
• Communicate with department managers regarding delivery issues and vendor out-of-stocks
• Operate a forklift and pallet jack as required
• Maintain a clean and organized back room
• Handle register functions, customer returns, and complaints, and cover cashier shifts
• Assist in training and monitoring department personnel
• Continually increase product knowledge and use SAP and inventory management software

Requirements

• Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused
• Possess a sense of urgency
• Excellent customer service skills
• Highly organized with great attention to detail
• Ability to take direction and follow through
• Cashier trained and able to count currency
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of experience in grocery/retail or receiving environment preferred; 1 year of experience supervising others preferred.
