This role is responsible for providing expert consultation and education on clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance within healthcare. The consultant will evaluate, design, develop, and implement evidence-based programs to reduce variation in clinical practice and optimize patient outcomes, serving as a key liaison with government and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation and education related to clinical quality, patient safety, accreditation, regulatory and licensing (AR&L), risk management, and infection prevention and control
- Evaluate, design, develop, and implement evidence-based guidelines and programs to reduce variation in clinical practice and optimize patient outcomes
- Collect, analyze, report, and present clinical data for state, federal, and local agencies
- Facilitate education on interpreting compliance methods and regulatory requirements for regional projects
- Monitor, report, and develop mitigation plans for occurrences that may lead to medical center liability
- Support continuous survey readiness programs to maintain compliance with regulatory standards
- Serve as a liaison with applicable government agencies, regulatory agencies, and other organizations
- Develop and implement data collection and analyses to support quality improvement efforts, including advanced statistical analysis
- Support in-depth quality improvement and risk management efforts, including root cause analysis and corrective action plans
- Investigate opportunities to develop and improve quality improvement performance metrics, standards, and methods
- Facilitate the development of quality improvement initiatives by leveraging advanced technology and methodologies (e.g., Lean/Six-Sigma)
- Serve as the subject matter expert for quality improvement processes and regulations for internal and external stakeholders
- Develop stakeholder development and quality performance review processes and related training curricula
