QMA - Qualified Medication Aide - Weekend Option

About This Role

As a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA), you will provide basic care to patients, assist with daily activities, and administer medications. This role involves observing and reporting changes in patient conditions to the nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic care to patients
• Assist patients in their daily activities
• Administer medications to patients
• Record medication-related documentation
• Watch for changes in patients and quickly report them to nurses
• Collect and record information vital to patients’ conditions and treatment

Requirements

• Certified in the State of Indiana as a QMA
• Successful completion of Resident Care Assistant and Medication Assistant Training courses
• Successful completion of the 60 hour Qualified Medication Assistant course and the 40 hour practicum
• Passed the Qualified Medication Assistant exam
• Registered with State Department of Public Instruction
• Meet all qualifications for Nurse Assistant
• Proven ability and experience as a resident care assistant
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
• Pass the physical examination required at employment

Qualifications

• Proven ability and experience as a resident care assistant. Experience in long term care preferred.
