Supervise all receiving and storage functions for a hospitality establishment. This role involves inspecting items, managing inventory, ensuring cleanliness, and coordinating with the Executive Chef.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all receiving and storage functions
- Inspect incoming items against order and specification for correctness, identifying defects or overage/shortages
- Enforce established policies and procedures for coordinating the requisition of food, beverage and other materials
- Determine appropriate PAR’s for commonly used items within Food and Beverage with Executive Chef Approval
- Supervise the efficient transport of requested items to designated locations in a safe manner
- Conduct inventory of all product and ensure reconciliation of book to actual product in storage
- Ensure Purchasing/Receiving team maintains organization and cleanliness of all storage areas
- Work with the Executive Chef on efficient intake of product and create ordering guides
- Ensure the schedule developed by the Executive Chef is adhered to by the Purchasing/Receiving team
- Train all newly hired Purchasing and Receiving clerks and ensure they have completed their job certification
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years in a professional culinary hotel environment
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
- Proficient in Microsoft programs
- Proficient in POS
- Proficient in Health & Safety Standards
- Ability to multi-task, work under deadline driven schedule, and work as a team
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- 3+ years in a professional culinary hotel environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
