About This Role

Manage a diverse portfolio of minor construction and refurbishment projects across the University of Bristol's campus, from inception through to handover. This role ensures projects align with strategic goals while navigating a unique environment of historic and modern facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage minor projects from early inception through to handover, ensuring alignment with the University’s strategic aims and future campus vision
  • Lead on project initiation, options appraisal, programming and cost development, coordinating surveys, statutory requirements and specialist inputs
  • Prepare project briefs, programmes, cost plans and options appraisals, and support the development of business cases
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and user groups to ensure projects are practical, buildable and aligned with operational needs
  • Manage external consultants and contractors, and oversee project delivery to time, cost and quality
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies, taking timely action to mitigate impacts
  • Manage early-stage project governance, approvals and reporting, and ensure effective handover to end users and operational teams

Requirements

  • Background in construction, building or a related discipline
  • Good working knowledge of construction legislation and best practice, including CDM 2015, planning and building regulations

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable practical experience of managing construction projects from early planning through to completion

Nice to Have

  • Interest in historic, listed or older buildings alongside modern facilities

Certifications

Relevant professional and project management qualification (Required)
