Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Financial Technology

About This Role

Conduct internationally excellent research and provide research-led teaching in Financial Technology within the School of Engineering Mathematics and Technology, with a focus on Fintech and AI.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internationally excellent research in Financial Technology
• Join the Financial Engineering Lab (FEL) and Intelligent Systems Lab (ISL) research groups
• Research at the interface of Fintech and AI, including computational finance and financial engineering
• Carry out excellent research-led teaching
• Perform related administrative duties, particularly for the MSc Financial Technology with Data Science program
• Provide leadership across teaching and research (for Associate Professor level)

Requirements

• Research work involving financial technology (e.g., AI for finance, decentralized finance)
• Experience in teaching in financial technology (or strong desire for lecturer level)
• Strong evidence of leadership in research, teaching, and administration (for senior lecturer/associate professor level)
• Demonstrated leadership potential (for lecturer level)

Nice to Have

• Experience with large-scale data engineering on commercial cloud service stacks such as GCP, AWS, or MSAzure
• Experience with associated machine learning platforms such as Sagemaker and Vertex
• Experience with decentralized application development in Ethereum blockchains
