About This Role

The Procurement Specialist 2 supports seven divisions within the Department of Labor & Workforce Development by assisting with formal and informal procurements, facilities, lease services, and inventory tracking. This position plays an integral role in ensuring efficient departmental operations related to procurement and property control.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with formal and informal procurements for seven departmental divisions
  • Support facilities and lease services
  • Track inventory and assist with annual reporting for the Southeast Region Property
  • Assist with annual vehicle fleet inventory for the department
  • Work collaboratively with Budget, Fiscal, and IT to manage departmental procurement needs

Requirements

  • Alaska residency
  • Proficiency in Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving
  • Proficiency in Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in Contracting/Procurement/Property Control knowledge
  • Proficiency in Oral and Written Communication
  • Proficiency in Reasoning

Qualifications

  • Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, project management, or a related field
  • Experience in property control, purchasing, contract administration, writing or approving solicitations, explaining contracting requirements, developing or approving product specifications or scope of work for professional services
