About This Role

This role involves providing protection for critical government facilities and personnel, including The White House Complex and foreign diplomatic missions.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in Washington, D.C.
• Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions
• Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Current valid U.S. driver's license
• At least 21 years old at time of application and under 40 at referral (exceptions may apply)
• Ability to carry and use a firearm and maintain proficiency
• Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular
• Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye
• Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges
• Ability to hear whispered voice at 15 feet without hearing aid
• Submit to pre-appointment and random drug testing
• Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at FLETC
• Complete 17 weeks of specialized training at James J. Rowley Training Center
• Register with the Selective Service System or be exempt (if male applicant born after December 31, 1959)
